Kris Stevens
Director for Student Conduct

Kris received a B.B.A. in Economics from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia in 2002, and his J.D. from Emory University in 2005.  Kris previously practiced contract law, administrative law, and medical law and was a federal prosecutor as an attorney with the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps.  He practiced law in Las Vegas, Nevada, Destin, Florida and Baghdad, Iraq.  In addition, he is the chief conduct officer for the University and his responsibilities include the planning, implementation, evaluation and oversight of the University’s student conduct system.  Kris is also responsible for the strategic vision of the Office of Student Conduct and serves as the office’s primary liaison with the University community.

Why he enjoys his job: I enjoy the opportunity to serve the University community and contribute to providing its students life lessons on the power of choice.  I am a proud Bulldawg, and I am proud of the opportunity to represent the University of Georgia.

Beau Seagraves
Associate Director

Beau received a B.A. in History and Political Science from the Furman University in 2002 and a M.Ed. in Counselor Education (Student Affairs emphasis) from Clemson University in 2004.  He recently earned his Ph.D. in College Student Affairs Administration here at UGA.  Beau previously served as the Assistant Dean for Student Support at UGA, Director of Residence Life and Summer Programs at Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC, and as a Housing Area Coordinator at Furman University in Greenville, SC.  His responsibilities include adjudicating alleged violations of the UGA Student Code of Conduct, managing the case assignment process for our office, supervising the two Coordinators of Student Conduct, coordinating our strategic planning and goal setting efforts, recruiting and training the faculty and staff formal hearing panel members, and serving as the liaison between the Office of Student Conduct and other offices and departments.

Why he enjoys his job:  I enjoy the opportunity to work with students, regardless of the circumstances they may face at the time.  I also work to create an environment where students can learn and grow from their experiences.

Zoe Johnson
Assistant Director - University Judiciary/Outreach

Zoe joined the Office of Student Conduct in March 2011. She is a proud UGA graduate having completed her B.S. in psychology and A.B. in sociology in 2002.  She went on to earn a M.S.W. also from UGA in 2004.  Zoe is a licensed clinical social worker with a background in counseling and crisis intervention.  She previously served the UGA Division of Student Affairs as Assistant Director for the Disability Resource Center.  Zoe’s primary responsibilities in the Office of Student Conduct include resolving alleged violations of the UGA Student Code of Conduct, advising the University Judiciary, coordinating outreach efforts, and supervising the office’s graduate assistant.  Zoe is a part-time doctoral student in UGA’s College Student Affairs Administration program.

Why she enjoys her job: I believe in the transformational power of accountability.  I enjoy encouraging students to make choices they can be proud of and that best reflect who they are or hope to become.

Kara Fresk
Senior Coordinator - Assessment

Kara completed both her B.S. and M.Ed. degrees at the University of Minnesota. After working for the University of Minnesota’s Department of Recreational Sports for several years, she came to UGA to pursue her Ph.D. in College Student Affairs Administration. Her primary responsibilities in the Office of Student Conduct include resolving alleged violations of the UGA Student Code of Conduct, developing reports for various stakeholders, conducting office-wide assessments and evaluations, and supervising the office’s intern and practicum students.

Why she enjoys her job: I enjoy supporting students as they explore their potential and develop goals for the future. I enjoy encouraging students to think of all their experiences, both positive and negative, as opportunities for learning and growth. I enjoy being part of a community dedicated to student success.

Mark Whitesel
Senior Coordinator - Housing

Mark attained his B.A. in Religion in 1994 from Anderson University (AU) located in Anderson, IN. In 1997 he completed his M.A. in Educational Leadership from Ball State University (BSU) in Muncie, IN. Currently, Mark is a Ph.D. student in Student Affairs Administration at the University of Georgia. He serves as the Coordinator for Housing Judicial Programs. His responsibilities include analyzing misconduct in the University residence halls, developing training programs for the hearing officers in University Housing, advising staff of alternatives for handling discipline situations, counseling residents concerning behavioral problems, and serving as a hearing officer. Mark also supervises the doctoral intern for Housing Judicial Programs who oversees the Conduct Review Board.

Why he enjoys his job: I enjoy working with college students and having an impact on their learning, whether inside or outside of the classroom.
I believe in the power of the educational moment, which is much of what student conduct is about. I also enjoy working with all of the different constituents of UGA and representing the University the best I can.

Chrisy Mramor
Administrative Assistant

Chrisy joined the Office of Student Conduct in August 2011.  She provides administrative support for all staff members in the Office of Student Conduct and for members of the University Judiciary members.  Her primary responsibilities include answering phone calls, scheduling appointments,  maintaining conduct case records, and responding to Dean Certification requests.  Chrisy also hires, trains, and supervises student employees.  She spends her time outside of work with her husband and two children.

Why she enjoys her job:  I enjoy my job because I get the opportunity to help make things easier for  those around me. I love the energy of the UGA environment and the sense of community that comes with living and working in Athens.

Graduate Assistant

Jordan Hannah joined the Office of Student Conduct in August 2011 as the Graduate Assistant.  He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Education in the College Student Affairs Administration (CSAA) program at the University of Georgia.  He received a B.A. in Political Science from Baylor University in 2010.  Prior to arriving at the University of Georgia, Jordan served as Special Assistant to the President of his alma mater, Baylor University. His current responsibilities include, but are not limited to, resolving alleged violations of the UGA Student Code of Conduct and advising the Judicial Outreach Team who provides educational programs on judicial issues.

Why he enjoys his job: I enjoy my job because it allows me to educate students about their role as a respectful and responsible citizen of the university community and society as a whole.
