Instructions and Restrictions: Students need to call Susan to set up their hours. The agency is open Mon-Fri, 8:00am-4:30pm. Students will be required to complete a background check and pay a $35 processing fee.

Instructions and Restrictions: Students must email The primary volunteering time is between 8:00am-5:00pm, and students should plan on volunteering in 2-4 hour time blocks. They are open Mon-Fri, 8:30am-5:00pm and advance notice is required. Computer skills are preferred but not necessary. Business casual dress is expected

Athens Humane Society

Instructions and Restrictions: Students must stop by the shelter in order to sign up for volunteer hours and orientation. Hours are on a first come, first serve basis. Please dress appropriately with no open toed shoes.

Instructions and Restrictions: Volunteers must contact Bridget. ReStore is open 9am-5pm Mon-Sat. Volunteers must work at least 4 hours to receive community service credit. Dress is casual. Close toed shoes required. Volunteers must purchase a $10 t-shirt. No felony level offenders or individuals with charges resulting from theft, violent crime, or trespassing accepted.

Instructions and Restrictions: Volunteers must contact Eddie to set up a short interview prior to beginning their service hours. Volunteers must schedule their hours in advance. Email contact is preferred. Students found in violation of regulations 3.3 or 5.1-4 may not complete their hours at this site. Dress code: no revealing clothing or items that contain inappropriate language or gestures. This side does have some night and weekend hours available.

Atlanta Mission Thrift Store

Smoking cigarettes must take place off property, no cell phones at work, no profanity, and you must work in 2 hours or more time shifts, Mon-Sat 9:00am-7:00pm.

Books for Keeps

Service Type: Sorting, inventorying and boxing books in the Books for Keeps warehouse, or other tasks assigned as needed by the organization
Instructions and Restrictions: Volunteers must wear close toed shoes and weather appropriate clothing that may get dusty or mildly dirty from working in a warehouse environment. Transportation: The BFK warehouse is not directly on any bus route but is 0.6 miles from an Athens Transit stop near the intersection of Old Hull Road and Athena Drive on Route 1 - North Ave. evening route and Route - 24 Athens Tech. However, the stretch of Athena Drive from the stop to the warehouse does not have a sidewalk and has high speed traffic. On-site parking is available.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age with a case worker that accepts hour logs via email. Conservative, casual dress and closed toed shoes are required.

Instructions and Restrictions: Contact Zach Burgess to arrange volunteer hours. Clothing and behavioral restrictions apply. Volunteer hours can only be done Mon-Fri 7:00am-2:00pm, but volunteers must begin their first shift at 8:30, 9:30, or 10:30 and stay for the entire shift that ends at 1:30. Flexibility with hours will occur after the first full working shift.

Project Safe Thrift Store

Instructions and Restrictions: Please email April to establish time to meet and discuss times to complete service hours. The Project Safe Thrift Store business hours are Mon-Sat 10:00am-6:00pm. Dress comfortably and wear closed toed shoes. Anyone with any variation of charges related to theft or violence will not be permitted to volunteer.

The Salvation Army

Service Type: Family Store & Warehouse: sorting, folding, hanging clothes and misc. donations, bailing clothing, moving and setting furniture in store. Must be able to stand for long periods, lift at least 25 pounds. Cannot work if offense is related to shoplifting or theft of property. Soup kitchen: cleaning, stocking and organizing walk in cooler and pantry, cleaning, organizing, prepping kitchen, prepping meals and serving meals, clean up and resetting dining room before and after meals. No restrictions, must adhere to food safety, and serve safe guidelines.
Instructions and Restrictions: Please contact volunteer coordinator Joseph Bottoms to schedule volunteer opportunities. All volunteers will be required to fill out a volunteer form. Dress code: comfortable. Closed toed shoes, jeans and t-shirt. Please no shorts or tank tops.

The Office of Student Conduct is located on the 2nd floor of Memorial Hall. It is the white building located next to Sanford Stadium. When visiting our office, check in at room 247 located in the hallway between the Hooper Street and Reed Alley entrances to Memorial Hall. 


Report a Potential Conduct Violation
Individuals interested in submitting a report of potential Code of Conduct regulation violations should do so in writing. Reports not submitted in writing will be independently verified prior to beginning a conduct investigation. Reports should be submitted as soon as possible after the alleged violation. For individuals filing a report, a meeting can be arranged with a staff member in the Office of Student Conduct to discuss the conduct process. Reports should be submitted to Rebecca Scarbro, Associate Director for Student Conduct, by calling 706-542-1131 or emailing
